William A. “Bill” Carroll Jr., age 75, of Marlborough, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 11, 2024, in his home, with his loving wife, Sharon M. (Worden) Carroll at his bedside.
Bill was born in Norwood, Massachusetts, on January 10, 1949, to the late William A. and Jeanette R. (Bonin) Carroll. He was raised and educated in Norwood, graduating from Norwood High School, class of 1967.
Bill and Sharon married on July 20, 1988, and settled in Maynard. Sharon worked as a nurse and Bill had his Commercial Driver’s License and worked for Kings Chemical Company in Norwood as a tractor trailer driver for many years. They loved trips to the Cape, enjoying the sun and the sand and the sea.
Bill always had a hot rod or two. He modified their looks and worked on their engines. He went to all the car shows. He loved a good ride. His latest was a 1976 Corvette.
At home he had a workshop where he made custom knives. He designed them and hand made them, from carving the handle to grinding the blade
Bill is survived by his wife, Sharon M. Carroll of Marlborough, MA; his daughter, Mona L. Carroll-Chandler and husband Adam of Alta Dena CA and his brother, Mark G. Carroll of Seabrook, NH and his brother-in-law Richard P Worden of Fitchburg, MA. Bill was predeceased by his son, William Anthony “Billy” Carroll III, his sister, Maureen Carroll and his brother, Paul Carroll.
His Graveside Service will be celebrated on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Bridget’s Cemetery, Great Road, Maynard. Following the service the family invites attendees to join them at the 110 Grill Maynard, 129 Parker Street, Maynard.
Bill was a good man, a devout Christian, a loving husband, father and friend. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.
