Walfred J. "Wally" Korpi, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. He was born on October 12, 1923 in Maynard, MA to the late Ina (Kansanoja) and Ansga Korpi. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth of sixty nine years on November 17, 2016.
Wally served his country in World War II flying over thirty missions in the Army Air Corps. He worked for many years at Lapointe Machine and Tool Co. and also at Hudson Broach, both of which were in Hudson.
He loved gardening growing vegetables, also nurturing his orchids for years. He also loved breeding canaries. Wally enjoyed sharing his home grown vegetables with neighbors and friends.
Ruth and Wally had many happy memories having family cookouts and Holiday get together's. They had some of their happiest times while they belonged to a square dance club and Ruth made many of their costumes.
Wally was the loving father of four children. He leaves Sharon, Wayne, Gail and her husband Ron, and Paul and his wife Colleen. Wally leaves behind many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as great-great grandchildren. He also leaves many extended family members.
Per Ruth and Wally's request they shall be buried together at a private graveside service at the family's convenience.
