Thomas C. Abrahamsen

November 4, 1934 — October 23, 2013

Thomas C. Abrahamsen, age 78, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013. He was the best friend and loving husband of Susan (Bawden) Abrahamsen.

Born in Miles City, Montana, he was the son of Arthur and Gertrude (Manley) Abrahamsen.

Following graduation from Butte High School, Tom earned a degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. He married the former Sue Bawden and lived in several states before settling in Hudson, Massachusetts.

He specialized in Ergonomics /Human Factors design and retired from Digital Equipment Company in 1991. In his leisure time, Tom enjoyed inventing and designing all kinds of games, furniture and artistic creations. He had a keen appreciation of nature and enjoyed travel and learning about other cultures. He was an avid reader and loved to learn.

In addition to his wife of 56 years, he leaves two daughters, Amy Abrahamsen of Georgia and Eve and husband David Dolenski of Michigan, two grandchildren, Elsa and her husband Christopher Shaw and Liam Noonan also of Georgia, three great grandchildren, Lydia, Caelan and Kieron Shaw and his sister, Joanne Shields of Washington.

Memorial service will be Saturday November 2, 2013 at 11:00 am at the First Parish Church of Stow and Acton, 353 Great Rd., Stow, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to the First Parish Church of Stow and Acton Building Fund or to the charity of one's choice.
