Susan M. (Boccabello) Mason

Susan M. (Boccabello) Mason, age 98, of Maynard, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 26, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late Sidney H. Mason.

Susan was born in Waltham, Massachusetts on October 6, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Pasqualina (D'Ennocenco) Boccabello. She was raised and educated in Waltham. Susan graduated from Waltham High School, class of 1941. She continued her education at Brandeis University Secretary School, class of 1945. Susan and Sidney married in 1947 and settled in Maynard to raise their growing family together.

Susan worked as an Administrative Assistant for Raytheon and the Digital Equipment Corporation for over ten years.

Family was most important to Susan. She cherished spending time with family and friends at cookouts. Susan enjoyed knitting scarves and hats for her family. She also enjoyed the companionship of her family dogs over the years. Susan and Sidney loved to travel together. They traveled to Alaska on a cruise, Florida, California, Canada and Hawaii.

Susan is survived by her children, Linda S. Davis of Hudson, MA; Richard S. Mason and wife Jinyoung of Colonie, NY; Jack A. Mason and wife Jeanmarie of Reidsville, NC; Susan A. Mason of Maynard, MA; her grandchildren, Cherie, Melissa, Crystal, Richard, Robert, Douglas, Isabelle, Timothy and Edward; her great-grandchildren, Amy, Jaelene Madison, Darcy, Reed, Gavin, Drew, Reece, Madison, Sydney and Avery. She was predeceased by her brothers Anthony, Severino and Dominick.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Susan on Thursday, March 31, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord St., Maynard. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bridget's Church, One Percival St., Maynard. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard.
