Stuart "Stu" Murray

Stuart “Stu” Murray, beloved husband, father, coach, colleague, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 24, 2026, at the age of 62, surrounded by the people he loved most. Born in Concord, MA on December 21, 1963, Stu was the son of the late Roger and Kathy Murray. He grew up in Maynard, where he made lifelong friends—friendships he continued to build throughout college, his 40-year career at RTX, and his many years living in Littleton.

A proud graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Stu earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1986. His love of sports followed him to college, where he continued to play basketball—a game that would later become one of the greatest joys he shared with his sons.

Stu dedicated four decades of his career to RTX Corporation (formerly Raytheon Technologies), serving in roles that spanned engineering, mission assurance, and quality leadership. His colleagues knew him as steady, loyal, and relentlessly committed. Even during his four-year battle with cancer, Stu continued to work with the same integrity and determination that defined his entire life.

Stu and Tina’s love story began early—they met in middle school, started dating in high school, and built a life together rooted in devotion and partnership. They married on October 22, 1989, and settled in Littleton in 1994. Their greatest joy arrived with the births of their sons: Chris in 1994 and Nick in 1997. Stu was a deeply devoted father and husband, the kind who showed up—always. He coached Little League, youth soccer, and eventually basketball, where he found his true coaching passion. Whether on the court or the field, Stu expected 110% effort from every player, and he matched it with equal enthusiasm, encouragement, and heart. The boys he coached still speak of him with admiration and affection, remembering him as a mentor who pushed them, believed in them, and celebrated them.

Time with family and friends was everything to Stu. He cherished vacations to Walt Disney World, Cape Cod, York Beach, and especially the annual Fourth of July trip to Sebec Lake in Maine. At home, he was the king of Cribbage and Pitch, always ready to teach any friend or family member who wanted to learn—and always happy to fill his home with laughter, friendly competition, and the kind of rowdy joy that made memories.

In his twenties, Stu began visiting Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, NY—a tradition he paused while raising his family but joyfully revived in 2024. His final trip there, just two weeks before he passed, was spent exactly as he loved: surrounded by family and friends, savoring time together.

Stu’s life was defined by loyalty, love, and presence. He gave fully—to his family, his work, his players, and his friends. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the memories he created through decades of dedication, humor, and heart.

Stuart is survived by his wife, Tina Murray of Littleton, MA; and his children, Chris and Nick Murray of Littleton, MA. He is also survived by his sister, Lisa Murray of Acton, MA; his mother‑in‑law, Fran Curcio of Maynard, MA; his in‑laws Len “LP” Curcio and Ellie Walls of Townsend, MA; Laura and her husband, Pete Barbella of Littleton, MA; and Steve and his wife, Kathy, of Sanford, ME.

Uncle Stu is lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Taryn Sundberg; Elena Murray and her fiancé, RJ McCann; Griffin Murray; PJ, Emily, and Lindsey Barbella; Connor and Alison Curcio; as well as his great‑nephew Thomas McCann and his sister Everly. Stuart is predeceased by his brother, Keith Murray and father-in-law, Len Curcio.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Stuart on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Fowler‑Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord Street, Maynard. His Funeral Service will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at the Fowler‑Kennedy Funeral Home, followed by a celebration of life luncheon.
