On Saturday, August 14, 2021, Steven Silva, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 66.
Steve leaves behind his wife, Sara, his two sons, Zachary and Jason, his grandchildren, Addison and Gunnar, his mother, Julia, his sister, Lee Ann, their families and many good friends.
Steven Silva was born on May 21, 1955, in Marlborough, Massachusetts, to Roger and Julia (Wehkoja) Silva, and grew up in the town of Maynard. He earned his master's degree and worked as a finance specialist and executive recruiter before becoming a real estate investor and home remodeler. He married Sara (Natanson) on September 1, 1980. They shared 40+ wonderful years.
Steve was so many things. He was an athlete, a musician, an artist, a teacher and a craftsman. He was known well for his ability to repair anything. He was reliable. Family and friends knew that if they needed advice or a helping hand, he'd be there. But what he'll be remembered for most is his sense of humor. He drew comedy from hidden places and his laughter was music to our ears.
As a son, he was a bright light for his mother, Judy, and his late father, Roger. As a brother, he antagonized with love, just as a sibling should. As a husband, he was committed and caring. He and Sara made an unstoppable team full of laughter, adventure and pride in one another. As a father, he instilled in Zak and Jason character, work ethic, a light heart and a craftsman's hands, rarely missing a teaching moment or an opportunity to laugh. He showed them the true meaning of a "best friend."
A life celebration memorial service for Steven will be held on Wednesday August 25, 2021, at 11:00 AM. at Wedgewood Pines Country Club, 215 Harvard Road, Stow, MA 01775.
