Sandra Gail (Peary) Mocanu

Sandra Gail Mocanu, age 81, of Harvard, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023 surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 35 years, Erich G. Mocanu.

Sandra was born in Boston, MA on June 2, 1942, the daughter of the late Howard R. Peary and Dorothy E. (Wilson) Peary.

She graduated from Maynard High School in the Class of 1960 and continued her education at the Chandler School for Women graduating in 1962 in Boston, MA.

After the passing of her husband, she and her two older children, Jeffrey and Jennifer continued to run the family business, Apex Reporting, founded by Erich in 1980.

 A devoted mother, she always provided love and support for her children, she also enjoyed spending time with family and her many friends.  

Sandra was a devout Christian and involved in church her entire life, attending Seeds of Faith Community Church in Harvard for several years after relocating there. 

She considered herself fortunate to have travelled all over the United States, Europe, Venezuela and the Caribbean with her family. For the last 11 years, she has spent the winter months with her son Stephen in Guatemala and travelled extensively throughout Central America with him.

She is survived by her three children, Jeffrey H. Mocanu and his wife Leonda of Northborough; Jennifer L. Goguen, her husband Daniel and family of Maynard and Stephen G. Mocanu and his partner Alvaro Aviles of Guatemala.

She is also survived by her loving sister, Suzanne J. French of Maynard, several cousins, nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews.

Sandra will be laid to rest eternally by the side of her husband at Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard. Services will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
