Ronald J. Starr

Ronald J. Starr, of Berlin, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2024.  He was the loving husband of Helga H. (Bruckner) Starr. 

Ronald was born in Concord, Massachusetts on December 12, 1940, to the late John E. and Elvie H. (Uljua) Starr.  He was raised and educated in Maynard, graduating from Maynard High School, class of 1958.  Upon graduation, Ronald enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, from January 20, 1959 – March 29, 1962.   Ronald and Helga met in Germany in 1959 and married in 1963.   

Ronald and Helga purchased Butler Lumber in Maynard in 1973.  The couple ran the company together for the next forty six years, retiring in 2019.  

Ronald is survived by his wife, Helga H. Starr of Berlin, MA.  Ronald was predeceased by his brother William Starr.
