Robert "Bob" Gorman, age 60, of Maynard, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 after a long heroic battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Joyce M. (Droz) Gorman.
Born in Boston on January 4, 1958, he was the son of the late James and Lillian (Clifford) Gorman. Bob was raised and educated in Boston, he attended Carver High School.
Bob and Joyce married on February 29, 1980 and settled in Maynard where they raised their family.
Bob worked in construction for many years. He ended his career at Metric Construction in Boston. He also worked for Deck House in Acton, Ma.
Bob loved fresh water and salt water fishing. He always looked forward to his yearly summer vacation to Dennis, Cape Cod and time spent at Scargo Lake. He enjoyed canoeing, kayaking and spending time on the water with his family. Bob loved his two dogs Abbey and Maggie and warmly referred to them as "my girls". He enjoyed watching his kids sporting events while they were growing up. He especially liked attending his son Jonathan's hockey games. Bob also enjoyed reading the Bible.
He is survived by his loving wife Joyce M. Gorman of Maynard: his sons Nathan R. Gorman of Maynard, Jonathan M. Gorman of Hudson; brother of Richard Gorman, Lawrence Gorman, Dennis Gorman, S. Walter Gorman, William Gorman, Thomas Gorman, Barbara Macias, Faith DeBolt, Ruth Dixon, Sharon Mowry, Donna Isabel, Patricia Rojee, Ginny Gorman and the late James Gorman and Eddie Gorman. He is also survived by many brother and sister in laws and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Bob on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord Street, Maynard. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 10:00 am at Saint Bridget Parish One Percival Street, Maynard. Private family burial will follow at Saint Bridget Cemetery in Maynard.
