Priscilla J. (Maguire) Oskirko, 96, died peacefully in her sleep on February 5, 2023, in Burlington, MA.
Priscilla was born July 9, 1926, in Concord, MA to John and Charlotte (Bernsen) Maguire. Her parents owned and operated a small restaurant in South Acton, MA.
Priscilla spent her early years living in Concord and was a 1944 graduate of Concord High School. In 2019 she celebrated her 75th high school reunion with a few remaining classmates.
Priscilla met her husband Victor while working at a pizza restaurant in Maynard, MA. After they married in 1953, they moved to Texas for Victor’s job at General Motors. It was there that Priscilla first found employment as a bookkeeper. After a year, they moved back to Massachusetts where she continued her bookkeeper career until she retired.
Both Victor and Priscilla enjoyed building houses as a side business. They made a great team. Victor was the builder and Priscilla was the painter. Shortly after retirement, Priscilla became a devoted volunteer at Emerson Hospital in Concord; a job she thoroughly enjoyed for 26 years. An avid traveler, she visited many countries. She would return home with wonderful stories of the places she visited and the people she met, and she maintained many of those relationships through her passion for letter writing. Priscilla was also very proud of her garden and would spend many hours tending it.
Priscilla is survived by her husband of 69 years, Victor Oskirko Jr.; daughter and spouse, Cathy Doran and Mark Doran; her two sons and their spouses, John and Christine Oskirko, and Bill and Dawne Oskirko; and her grandchildren; Emily, Mathew, Sarah, Amy, Zack, Jake, Luke, and Kate. Her children and grandchildren were the light and love of her life. She will be dearly missed.
She was predeceased by her brother, John W. Maguire.
