Nancy Ann (Foley) Mikkonen

Nancy Ann (Foley) Mikkonen, age 75, of Maynard, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025. She was the wife of the late Walter Alan Mikkonen.

Born in Hartford, Connecticut, on October 19, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Paul T. and Rita H. (Bariteau) Foley. Raised and educated in Maynard, Nancy graduated from Maynard High School (1968) and Burdett Business School (1970).

Family was the most important part of Nancy’s life. She loved spending time with her daughter and her sister. Nancy enjoyed dinner with her girlfriends. She was an avid reader. Nancy cherished her vacations to Maine and Provincetown. She also enjoyed word search and the company of her cats.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Kelly Mikkonen and partner Tony Buscemi of Maynard, MA; her husband, David Sherman of Maynard, MA; her sister, Kris Sliney and husband Steve of Maynard, MA; her nephew, Michael Shook; her niece Sabrina Foley-Hadded and several close friends. Nancy was predeceased by her brother, Paul Foley.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Nancy on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home 42 Concord Street, Maynard, MA. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bridget’s Church, One Percival Street Maynard, MA. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Great Road, Maynard, MA.
