Nancy P. (Peirce) Kyle, 93, of Stow, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 29, 2017. She was the loving wife of the late Philip M. Kyle of forty-two years before his passing in 1986.
Born in Arlington, Massachusetts on June 30, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Herbert R. and Edith (Fay) Peirce. Nancy was raised and educated in Arlington. She graduated from Arlington High School, class of 1942. Upon graduation, Nancy attended Wheelock College in Boston and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Child Development. Nancy and Philip were married on June 1, 1944 and settled in Stow in 1956, where they raised their family. Nancy was a third grade teacher at The Center School in Stow for thirty-four years, retiring in 1989. She adored all of her students over the years and cherished the opportunity to educate them. Nancy had a strong faith and was a parishioner at the Union Church in Stow for many years.
Nancy was an avid reader and a stickler for excellent spelling and grammar. She enjoyed listening to traditional jazz. She enjoyed cooking and baking and loved summer family trips to the Cape, sailing and sun bathing.
She is survived by her four children, Philip M. Kyle Jr. and wife Carol Dumas, of Harwich, MA; Susan Kyle of Fairhaven, MA; Peter Kyle and wife Yuki Baba, of Berkeley, CA; Elizabeth Kyle and husband, Leo Egan of Stow, MA; her cherished grandchildren, Jenny, Peter, Kate, Matthew, and Nate, and her great-grandchildren Samantha, Kate and Abigail.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Nancy on Wednesday August 2, 2017 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord Street, Maynard, MA. A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Highrock Stow Chapel, 317 Great Rd, Stow, MA. Burial will be private at a later date at Brookside Cemetery, Stow.
