Michael R. Narekiewicz

Michael R. Narekiewicz, age 90, of Maynard, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. He was the loving husband of the late Jadwiga I. (Kowza) Narekiewicz.

Born in East Cambridge, Massachusetts, on March 1, 1931, the son of the late Alexander and Antonia (Geina) Narekiewicz. Raised and educated in East Cambridge, Michael graduated from Rindge Technical High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during the Korean War. Michael and Jadwiga married on August 20, 1955. The couple settled in Maynard in 1971 to raise their family together.

Michael worked as a Steamfitter for forty two years, retiring in 1998.

Michael was a baseball enthusiast. He loved to watch baseball games, especially the Chicago Cubs. He cherished time spent with his family and enjoyed going out for breakfast with family and friends.

Michael is survived by his children Anne Ruggiero and husband Bruce of Illinois, Michael W. Narekiewicz and wife Melanie of Tewksbury, Eva Vallet and husband Jody of Baton Rouge Louisiana, his grandchildren Lillian Narekiewicz, Peter and Michael Vallet.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Michael on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord St., Maynard. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 10:30 am at St. Bridget Parish, One Percival St., Maynard. Burial will be private.
