Michael B. Cressman

Michael B. Cressman, age 59, of Stow, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. He was the loving husband of Corinne M. (Barndt) Cressman.

Michael was born in Elkhart, Indiana on December 6, 1963, to the late David W. and Phebe A. (Epp) Cressman.  He was raised and educated in Scottdale, Pennsylvania, graduating from Southmoreland High School, class of 1982.   Michael went on to attend Carnegie Mellon University, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in applied mathematics (1986).  Michael and Corinne met in college and married on June 27, 1987.  He later continued his education at Northeastern University, earning his Master’s in Computer Science (1992).   They settled in Stow in 2003 to raise their growing family. Michael worked as a computer software engineer for Red Hat, Inc. for the last fourteen years.

Michael was a devout man of faith, which he demonstrated through his love for his family and his community. He and his wife raised 4 children to understand the importance of being available for others in need. The family opened up their home to many people in need of a place to stay both short term and long term, and always had room at the dinner table for extra guests. Michael enjoyed attending his children’s sporting events over the years and keeping detailed statistics for each child and sport. He was also a little league coach for his kids’ baseball teams, which reflected his love for sports. He was also an active member of New Life Community Church in Concord, MA for thirty seven years, serving his church in many ways throughout that time. He had a passion for music, playing piano on the church worship team. He also acted and arranged music for New Life Fine Arts.

Michael is survived by his wife, Corinne M. Cressman of Stow, MA; his sons, Luke D. Cressman and wife Chelsea M. of Shrewsbury, MA; Ross M. Cressman and wife Marissa L. of Shrewsbury, MA; his daughters, Erin E. Cressman of McAlisterville, PA; Anna R. Read-Cressman and husband Jonathon L. of Somerville, MA; his grandchildren, Josephine and Isabelle; his brothers, Jerold L. Cressman and wife Kristin M. of Westford, MA; Timothy S. Cressman of Scottdale, PA; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents David W. and Phebe A. Cressman. 

His celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 3pm at New Life Community Church 221 Baker Ave, Concord, MA 01742 with calling hours with the family on June 23rd, 2023 from 6pm-8pm at the same location.
