Mema Zachariah

Mema Zachariah (70), beloved wife of Thomas Zachariah (Babuji), Coipurathu, Ranni, passed away on January 17, 2021, at her home in Springfield, Massachusetts. She died peacefully surrounded by her entire family amidst the reciting of prayers and hymns of Christian faith.
The funeral services will be held at St. Stephen's Knanaya Church, 182 Main Street, Maynard, Massachusetts 01754, the viewing and funeral services are from 8 AM till 11:30 AM, followed by burial at St. Bridget's Cemetery, 1 Percival Street, Maynard, Massachusetts 01754 at 12 noon.
Mema Zachariah was the daughter of late P.M Punnoose and late Kunjamma Punnoose, Valiyaparambil Poovallil, Veliyanadu.
Mema spent her early years in the backwaters of Kuttanadu where she earned her unique skills of charm and hospitality befitting her warm personality. After completing her studies at Nicholson Girls High School, Thiruvalla, and BCM College, Kottayam, Mema and Babuji were married on the 9th day of May 1971 and they raised their sons in Aluva, Kerala, until they settled down in the United States in the late Eighties.
Mema was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a generous grandmother and she leaves behind a legacy of affection and love to those close to her heart. We will miss her incredible life and vigor, her ever-smiling face, and her love for family and friends.
Mema's house was a welcoming place for family and friends and she mesmerized them with fabulous culinary skills and memorable dining experiences. We will miss her generosity and her hospitality. Although it is difficult to see beyond the sorrow today, the beautiful memory of this loving wife, mother, and grandmother will sustain the family in the days ahead, for we know that blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. With much gratitude, we acknowledge your comforting words and your prayers.
