Mary Ellen (Bresnahan) LeBlanc, age 79 of Stow, MA passed away suddenly on Friday, June 4, 2021. Mary was the loving wife of Donald R. LeBlanc.
Born in Haverhill, MA, on May 3, 1942, Mary was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Levis) Bresnahan. Mary was raised and educated in Haverhill, graduating from Saint James High School, class of 1960. Upon graduation, Mary went on to attend Regis College and later transferred to Salem State University, earning her degree in Education, class of 1965. Mary and Donald married on June 29, 1968. The couple purchased a lot of land in Stow and built their family home together from the ground up, completing the home together in August of 1970.
Mary taught school for many years in Haverhill and Hudson, MA and retired from Steppingstones School in Stow. She was often recognized as the receptionist at Weight Watchers in Stow where she worked for twenty-five plus years.
Family was most important to Mary. Nothing put a smile on her face like spending time with her grandchildren. Her favorite place was the beach. Mary loved spending summer days with her family at Rye Beach in New Hampshire and in recent years Ogunquit, ME and Rehoboth Beach, DE. Mary looked forward to her annual trip to Aruba with Donald. Mary was an avid skier and cherished her family ski trips to Sunday River and Cranmore Mountain when her boys were young. She enjoyed playing golf in her women's league in Lexington at Pine Meadows. She was an incredible knitter and enjoyed sharing her knitted sweaters and blankets with friends and family. Mary was a fanatic Boston sports fan always watching and following the teams.
Mary is survived by her husband, Donald R. LeBlanc of Stow, her sons, Christopher R. LeBlanc and wife Kathryn F. of Colchester, CT; and Jonathan R. LeBlanc of Philadelphia, PA; her beloved grandchildren, Jennifer and Finley LeBlanc; her brother, Joseph R. Bresnahan and Jane of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, FL; her sister, Helen M. and Joseph McKittrick of Rye, NH.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Mary on Friday, June 11, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord Street, Maynard. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 10:00 am at Saint Isidore Catholic Church, 429 Great Road, Stow MA 01775.
