Mary Greene Havener, 67, of Maynard, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Emerson Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles D. Havener.
Mary was born in Boston on August 24, 1951. She was the daughter of the late William H. and Mildred E. (Logan) Greene. Raised and educated in Boston, Mary graduated from Cardinal Cushing High School. Upon graduation, Mary went on to attend Northeastern University earning a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. She then obtained a Master's Degree in Library Science in 1980, from Simmons College. Charles and Mary married on June 5, 1982, and have been Maynard residents ever since. Mary worked as a librarian for many years at Joslin Clinic and MIT Lincoln Laboratory.
Mary enjoyed hiking and spending time in nature. She looked forward to yearly trips to Maine with her husband. She also had a real love for animals.
Mary is survived by her Aunt Sister Patricia Logan in the order of the Sisters of St. Joseph, her brother-in-law Robert W. and wife Rita A. Havener of Lynnfield, MA.
Mary's graveside service will be celebrated on Thursday, August 15, 2018 at 11:00 am in Glenwood Cemetery, Parker Street, Maynard.
