Marion G. (Murphy) Hatch

Marion G. (Murphy) Hatch, age 84, lifelong resident of Maynard, MA, passed away peacefully July 30th, 2026 surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. 

Marion was born in Concord, MA June 3rd, 1942, daughter of late James P. Murphy and Marion G. (Fenton). 

Marion spent 50 devoted years as a radiology technician at Emerson Hospital, where her legacy continues to live on in the hearts of many current and former staff members, who remember her as a strong and spicy woman. 

Marion lived life with kindness, grace, and simple pleasures; and if you are lucky enough, you will remember her quick wit and infectious humor. She spent many of her happiest moments with her nose in a good book, birdwatching, sitting on the shore, or dreaming of her island paradise, Hawaii. Marion also deeply cherished her routine of getting together to enjoy coffee with “the girls,” sharing laughter and close friendships over the years. Above all else, Marion’s family was her greatest joy. She was a deeply devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished every laugh and milestone shared with her loved ones. Her faithful dog, Molly, was a constant source of companionship, always contentedly by her side, just as her late dog, Gracie, had been in years past, along with many of her beloved pets throughout her life. 

Marion is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harold F. Hatch Jr., of Maynard, MA. Her son Harold F. Hatch III and partner Lynn Collins of Norton, MA. Her son Jimmy C. Hatch and wife Tabetha of Maynard, MA. Her cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Colton, Jake, Miranda “Minnie,” Alyssa “Lissy,” Meadow, and Christopher. Her brothers James P. Murphy and his wife Gail, of Maynard, MA, and George R. Murphy and his wife Nancy, of Punta Gorda, FL. Marion shared an exceptionally close, lifelong bond with her brothers. She will also be deeply missed by her special nieces Janet and Katherine, and many extended family members and dear friends. 

Respectful of her wishes, there will not be any services held. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to the MSPCA in her honor.
