Marie A. (Conti) Wachtler

Marie A. (Conti) Wachtler age 90 and longtime resident of Sudbury passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Life Care Center of Acton. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Wachtler, Sr. who died in 1995.

Born in Newark, NJ on May 25, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Joseph L. and Linda (Padula) Conti.

Raised and educated in New Jersey. She married Robert on October 13, 1956 and settled in Sudbury.

Marie worked as an administrative assistant for Dr. Richard Porter at Digital Equipment Corporation

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, family was the center of her life where she enjoyed holidays, family gatherings and vacations. An avid baker, Marie would bake her delicious home-made cinnamon buns which were enjoyed by many. She enjoyed reading and decorating and was a longtime member of the Sudbury Garden Club and Sudbury Book Club. She was also a faithful member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Sudbury.

She is survived by her children, Robert L. Watchler, Jr. and wife Theresa of Colorado Springs, CO, Linda M. Rosati and husband Peter of Ashburnham, Catherine M. Wachtler and husband Dr. Jeffrey Martin of Pacifica, CA and Douglas L. Wachtler and wife Magda of Framingham and 7 grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Joseph L. Conti.

Family and friends will gather for Marie's life celebration on Sunday, Nov. 16 from 3:00-6:00 pm in the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord St., Maynard. Her funeral mass will be held on Monday at 9:00 am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 160 Concord Road, Sudbury. Burial will follow in Wadsworth Cemetery, Maynard.
