Maria Aurora Costa was a lot of things. She was a mother, a sister, a grandmother and great grandmother. She was a woman with a heart of gold and a feisty soul. She was always the one you could rely on when you were feeling down, she'd cook you up something delicious and make sure she kept you laughing. She never lost her spunk, no matter what she went through. She was full of life and love and she loved her family more than words could say. She was a self-proclaimed Queen of Portugal, and to her family she was the queen of everything, because she always knew what to do and what to say. She was a strong woman who took care of other people more than she cared for herself. She will be forever remembered as a ray of light that shined on this world and that still lingers, though she may not be physically present any longer she will be present spiritually, ready to support and play jokes on her loved ones at any time.
She will be missed for her incredible soups, and remembered as everyone's mother and nana because of her kind heart and the way that she always helped everyone whenever anyone came asking. She worked at Augat in her younger years and had always been a hardworking woman.
She is preceded in death by her husband John C Costa and survived by her daughter Marylou (Costa) Carey, her grandchildren Jessica McGonagle, Jonathan Benoit and Micaela Carey, her great grandchildren Nicholas and Lucas McGonagle her lovely fur grandchildren, Bailey, Sphynx, Isabella, Jasper, Googalee, Mabel, Kesha, Callen, Marshmallow and Winnie, and her 3 sisters, Maria De Rosa, Liduina Pereira, and Cidalia Pereira.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to St. Jude Hospital as she always loved the fierce and beautiful spirits of the children there.
