Loretta A. (Goucher) Sagar

September 19, 1935 — May 3, 2017

Loretta A. (Goucher) Sagar, age 81, a long-time resident of Stow, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in Pepperell, MA after battling cancer. Loretta leaves her loving husband of sixty-one years Albert John Sagar.

Born in Concord, MA on September 19, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Robert A. and Barbara (Swift) Goucher. Loretta was raised and educated in Stow. She worked in Data Entry Operations for Gen Rad for many years. She enjoyed volunteering at the Town Hall in Stow registering voters.

Family always came first for Loretta. She and John were married on February 15, 1956, the day John returned home from the service. The couple enjoyed traveling together, especially to Amish Country. Known for her love of baking and gardening, she also enjoyed trying various arts and crafts late in life such as watercolor painting, which gave her great pleasure.

She is survived by her loving husband Albert John Sagar of Pepperell; her three children Douglas B. and wife Vicky Sagar of Hudson, Debra L. and husband Scott Babbidge of Windham, ME, Lynne A. and husband Leif Carlson of Ashburnham; her siblings Janet and husband Robert Derby of Stow, Alice and husband Richard Mortenson of Stow, Nancy Grant and husband Donald of Pepperell, Richard Goucher of Stoughton and Theodore Goucher of Stow; grandchildren Beata and husband Mike Aubin, Jason and wife Jamie Babbidge, Ben Carlson and longtime girlfriend Meghan Hogan and Gretchen Carlson; great-grandchildren Andrew and Emily Mcneish of Hudson, Zoey and Isaac Babbidge of Chester, NH.

Services will be private.
