Linda L. (Gentsch) Uglevich

July 24, 1946 — April 9, 2018

Linda L. (Gentsch) Uglevich, age 71, of Maynard, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 surrounded by her loving family and close friends. She was the loving wife of Joseph J. Uglevich Jr.

Born in Concord, Massachusetts on July 24, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Julius Charles and Anna (Haapanen) Gentsch. Linda was a lifelong Maynard resident. She graduated from Maynard High School, class of 1964. Linda went on to secretarial school in Boston. Linda and Joe married in August 1967 at Saint Casimirs Parish, Maynard. The couple met when they were only twelve and thirteen years old, having a true friendship for the last sixty years.

Linda worked for many years for the Digital Equipment Corporation as a Graphic Designer, she then went to work for McPherson for 10 years, and later she went on to work at the Franciscan Hospital for Children, where she enjoyed interacting with the children in the occupational therapy department. After retirement, she worked part time at The Timothy Wheeler Houses in Concord.

Family was most important to Linda. She enjoyed cooking and hosting weekly family dinners, especially the holidays and preparing a special dinner for family member's on their birthday. Her four grandchildren were her pride and joy. Whether it was day trips, swimming in Grammy and Grampy's pool or going to all of their sporting events, she was their biggest fan. Linda had a close group of girlfriends from Maynard and she looked forward to their yearly dinners at the Wayside Inn and Pickity Place in Mason, NH. She loved gardening and spending time in her yard and gardens. Linda and Joe enjoyed traveling, day trips to the beach and spending time in Ogunquit, Maine.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Joseph J. Uglevich of Maynard; her children; Joseph J. Uglevich III and wife Laura of Maynard, Cindy Campobasso and husband David of Lincoln; her beloved grandchildren Zachary, Joey, Leah and Tucker; as well as her sister Nancy Whitcomb of Acton. Linda was predeceased by her sister Janet Morse.
