Kathryn "Katie" Marie Donovan

January 13, 1995 — January 1, 2022

Kathryn "Katie" Marie Donovan, age 26, of Stow, passed away unexpectedly at home surrounded by family in the early morning of January 1, 2022. She was the beloved daughter of Mark Peter Donovan and Kristen Marie (Holt) Donovan, and the cherished sister of John Matthew and Emma Leena. Katie was born in Concord, MA, on January 13, 1995.

Katie was a pure soul, generous with her love, and made everyone around her a better person. Katie was considered by everyone who knew her to be the most positive person they ever met. She greeted friends and strangers alike with a huge infectious smile and a wave. She had a very silly personality that brought out the best in everyone. Katie will be forever remembered for all the love she gave the people in her life.

Katie enjoyed all kinds of gatherings with people, especially holidays, birthday parties, and art shows. Katie enjoyed the beach in Maine, Story Land, going on long walks with her family, and of course making art. Along with her mother and her siblings, Katie had a deep love for art. She had a beautiful perspective on the world which manifested in her colorful artwork with her own unique style. Her favorite subjects were flowers, birds, and her three dogs whom she adored. Katie thoroughly enjoyed helping her mother run the family art studio. She loved all the senior citizens and young kids who passed through its doors over the years. She kept in touch with many through text messages and considered them good friends. Katie enjoyed being a part of their lives as they grew up and beamed with joy when they would come visit her.

Katie deeply loved and was incredibly proud of her two younger siblings. She was so thrilled to be able to help care for them as babies earning the title "little mumma." Her unconditional love was reciprocated by John and Emma who absolutely adored her. They pulled Katie around in her iconic red wagon to include her in all their various outdoor adventures. They both considered Katie their best friend. They liked reading to her and learning sign language to better communicate with her. Katie and Emma enjoyed playing Barbies and doing make-overs together. Katie and John often made arts and crafts together. They all enjoyed cracking themselves up being silly and doing goofy dances. Katie was always so supportive of her siblings, never missing music performances or basketball games. They were both very lucky to have Katie as their biggest cheerleader throughout their lives.

In addition to John and Emma, she was also very close with her cousins, Lauryn, Caroline, and Lily, who were like siblings to her. It was just a short walk down the street for frequent playdates with them at Auntie and Uncle's house. Katie was always the center of whatever game they were playing. Katie also really enjoyed spending time with her Grammy doing crafts and having her fingernails painted. They had a very special bond evidenced by how happy Katie would get when visiting her and how sad she would be when it was time to leave. Katie and Grammy would send loving text messages back and forth every evening, sometimes late into the night. They enjoyed holding hands while watching Emma's basketball games and even had their own secret handshake.

Katie is survived by her parents, Mark and Kristen (Holt) Donovan, her siblings John and Emma Donovan, her grandmother Marie Holt, her grandmother Eleanor Donovan, her aunt and uncle Carol Holt and James Talbott, her cousins Lauryn, Caroline, and Lily Talbott, and predeceased by her grandfather John Holt, her grandfather Peter Donovan, and her great-grandfather Anthony Sorrenti.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Katie on Friday, January 7, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord St., Maynard. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 429 Great Rd, Stow. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard.
