Joyce A. (Marriner) Boardman

Joyce A. (Marriner) Boardman, age 65, of Maynard, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at her home in Maynard. She was the loving wife of the late Leslie E. Boardman.

Born in Arlington, Massachusetts on March 29, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Arthur C. and Dorothy M. (Ross) Marriner. Joyce was raised and educated in Lexington, graduating from Nashoba Valley Technical High School. Les and Joyce married on February 14, 1981. The couple settled in Maynard and raised their family together.

Family was most important to Joyce. She loved spending time with family and friends at her home hosting pool parties. Everyone was always welcome at her home. Joyce was a warm loving person. She enjoyed cooking and cherished sharing her meals with the community of Maynard. Joyce also loved baking. Everyone always looked forward to her chocolate chip cookies and apple pies. She loved camping on the Cape and spending time at Nauset Beach. Joyce also loved attending the Indianapolis 500 with Les.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Jennifer A. Condon and husband Brian of Maynard, MA; her son, James R. Boardman and his long-time partner Lisa Hjelm and her son Wyatt of Ashby, MA; her daughter, Barbara Cardarelli of West Boylston, MA; her son, Nicholas Kavalchuck of N.H. She was the loving Grandmother "Nana" to Michael J. Boardman, Cody J. Condon and Dorothea M. Condon, all of Maynard, and Conner and Luke Stelmach of Sterling. Joyce is also survived by her sister, Adrienne Corbett and husband Phil, and girls Courtney Rheault & Family and Kimberly Soel & Family of Ashby, MA; her brother, Stephen Marriner and wife Janice & son Dillon of Woburn, MA; her BFF Fran Morgante and her husband Charlie and the girls Nikki Morgante & Je'Naire and Tim Brown and Children, Angelina & Thomas; her close friend Tootsie and Husband Leo Hayes.

Due to current restrictions, the graveside service for Les and Joyce will be private.
