Josephine A. (Spuria) Langley, age 89, of Stow, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late William James Langley.
Josephine was born in Waltham, Massachusetts on March 6, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Millie (Bonfiglio) Spuria. She was raised and educated in Belmont, graduating from Belmont High School, class of 1950. Josephine and William were high school sweethearts, the couple married on March 6, 1954. They settled in Stow in 1961 to raise their growing family together.
Josephine worked at Honey Pot Hill Orchards for thirty years. She helped run the daily operations.
Family was most important to Josephine. She enjoyed cooking and hosting for her family and friends. Everyone cherished her meatballs, pizzelles and delicious carrot cake. Josephine was an avid walker. She was an active volunteer at the Stow Council On Aging for many years.
Josephine is survived by her daughter, Sharon M. Blanchflower of Stow, MA; her sister, Pauline Spagnolia of Lexington, MA her grandchildren, Nichole R. Blanchflower, Richard C. Blanchflower III, Jared J. Blanchflower and Zachary W. Blanchflower; her great grandchildren, Alexia, Lilliana, Savannah, Camille, Mazie and Cali; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Brian James Langley and siblings, Antonetta Spuria, John Spuria, Guy Spuria and Joseph Spuria.
Her graveside service will be celebrated on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Brookside Cemetery 36 Gleasondale Road, Stow MA 01775.
