John A. Cramer

John A. Cramer, age 81, of Maynard, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. He was the loving husband of Cheryl A. (Naugler) Cramer.

John was born in Venice, Illinois on May 15, 1945, son of the late George P. Cramer and Doris A. (Johnson) Foucek. He was raised and educated in East St. Louis, Illinois and graduated from Granite City High School. Upon graduation John enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country. John and Cheryl married on July 13, 1968, and settled in Watertown. John attended Fisher College earning his associate’s degree in business. John and Cheryl settled in Maynard in 2004.

John worked as an ice cream maker for Brigham’s ice cream in Arlington for forty years, retiring in 2013.

Family was most important to John. He enjoyed smoking meat and BBQing for family and friends. John also enjoyed freshwater fishing and gardening.

John is survived by his wife, Cheryl A. Cramer of Maynard, MA; his daughter, Sheri E. Grusheski of Maynard, MA; his son, John J. Cramer and wife Judy N. of Stow, MA; his son, James L. Cramer and wife Monica of Maynard, MA; his grandchildren, Brenna Grusheski, Megan Grusheski, William Cramer and Jacob Cramer; his nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his siblings, George P. Cramer, Lenny Martin, sister-in-law Jackie Martin, Alice Fulton and Kathleen Breitweiser.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember John on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 4:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord Street, Maynard. Funeral service and burial will be private.
