Jessie C. (Caldwell) Keenan

Jessie C. (Caldwell) Keenan, age 92, of Stow, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 2, 2023.  She was the loving wife of the late James K. Keenan. 

Jessie was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada, on August 29, 1931, daughter of the late Millidge J. and Annie R. (Rideout) Caldwell.   Jessie and James married on May 23, 1951, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  They moved to the United Sates in 1954, settling in Maynard. 

Jessie worked at Emerson Hospital for a few years in the late 1960s - mid 1970s and also in a doctor’s office.  She worked for the town of Acton as a visiting home health aide from 1980-2007 and was loved by all that she cared for.      

Family was most important to Jessie both in the US and Canada.  She enjoyed hosting many family events at the Lake house in Stow. She also enjoyed cooking, supporting church events, travel, and her family, both young and old. Jessie was the most selfless person we have ever known.   

Jessie is survived by her children, Kevin M. Keenan of Mason, NH; James R. Keenan of Corpus Christi, TX; Darlene Keenan of Oakham, MA: her grandchildren, Aaron and Lexi Keenan of Milford, NH: Benjamin Keenan of Manchester, NH; Brandon, Caitlyn and Ivy Taylor of Derry, NH; Brianna Taylor and her partner Ryan Gaudet of Oakham, MA: Kristin (Keenan) Hutchins of Maynard, MA: Ashley Keenan of Maynard, MA; James B. and Renee Keenan of Eagle River, Alaska: Tanisha (Keenan) and Eric Hansen of Lowell, AR: Matthew and Iulia Keenan of CA: Daniel and Rachel Keenan of Rogers, AR and Elena Keenan of Lowell, AR: her 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.  She was predeceased by her son Blaine Keenan, siblings Max Caldwell and Joan Hayman.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Jessie on Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord Street, Maynard. Her Funeral Service will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m., followed by the burial at Brookside Cemetery, Stow.
