James Henry Crail, 88, peacefully passed away on Saturday January 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after battling vascular dementia. James was born on September 2, 1935, in Oklahoma City, OK. He served 20 years in the US Marines as a Staff Sargeant, including deployments to Vietnam and Okinawa, Japan. After serving he and his wife Janice raised their family in Maynard, MA before retiring to Punta Gorda, FL.
James (Jim, Jimmy, Mr. Crail, Grampa, Yay) will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and a very hardworking man who always made time to be either present at or coached all of his sons' sporting events. He was a true gentleman to everyone he met. As a Marine he took great pride in serving his country. He is predeceased by his wife, Janice, with whom he shared a life with for 55 years.
He is survived by son Richard and daughter-in-law Dori of East Hampton, CT, son Ronald and partner Teri of Grafton, MA, son Joey and daughter-in-law Erin of Tewksbury, MA, and grandchildren Samantha, Montana, Makenna, Tristan, Colleen and Kileigh. James also leaves behind many cherished friends from the Blue Heron Pines community in Punta Gorda, FL where he and Jan lived for 17 years.

A Celebration of Life for James and Janice will be held on, Saturday, February 10th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Maynard-Clinton Lodge of Elks 34 Powdermill Road, Maynard, MA 01754.
James will be reunited with Janice in a burial service to be held on March 5th at 2:00 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota FL.
