Jacqueline T. Dickey

In the loving memory of Jacqueline T. Dickey, age 95, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, just a few weeks shy of her 96th birthday.  She was the loving wife of the late William B. Dickey, Sr.

Jackie was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on January 23, 1928.  She was the daughter of the late Huestis I. and Ruth L. (True) Wells. After graduating high school in New York City, she attended Clark University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree.  Jackie then pursued her passion for literature, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Simmons University. 

 Jackie met her beloved husband, William, while working at the Wellesley Public Library.  They married in September 1951 and settled in Sudbury, Massachusetts and raised their six children. Jackie's family was her primary focus.  Jackie enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Sudbury Garden Club and volunteered at the Goodnow Public Library.  Jackie was a two-time breast cancer survivor for over thirty years. 

Jackie was predeceased by her husband, William, and grandson Michael. Jackie is survived by her children, Jean, Rosanne, Bill and his spouse Matt, Jim, Linda and her spouse Peter, Barbara and her fiancé David, and her grandchildren, Matthew and his spouse Nellie, Erin, Zoe, and Ava.

 Jackie will be remembered fondly for her unwavering love, her dedication to family, and her passion for gardening and literature.  May her soul rest in eternal peace.

Jackie lived most of her life in Sudbury, Massachusetts and will be laid to rest next to her loving husband in Sudbury, Massachusetts.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research. 

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Jackie on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 12:30pm with a graveside service at Old Town Cemetery, Concord Road, in Sudbury, Massachusetts.
