Hazel L. (Gould) Pratt

Hazel L. (Gould) Pratt, age 96, of Maynard, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late William B. Pratt.

Hazel was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on March 25, 1928, daughter of the late George F. and Hazel M. (Stimpson) Gould. She was raised and educated in Somerville. Hazel and William married on September 17, 1950, and settled in Maynard to raise their growing family.

Family was most important to Hazel. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Hazel enjoyed camping, especially in Carver, Massachusetts. She was a member of the Maynard Emblem Club #205 for many years. Hazel was a parishioner of the Union Congregational Church in Maynard. She was also an avid bingo player.

Hazel is survived by her children, Kathleen Pratt Harrington and husband David of Whately, MA; William B. Pratt Jr. and wife Ann of Maynard, MA; Karen Pratt Costa and husband Ron of Churchville, MD; daughter-in-law, Donna Pratt of Whitinsville, MA; her grandchildren, Laura and Paul Reid, Ryan and Kim Pratt, Karla Pratt, Noreen and Nick Alvarez, Kara and Marty Day, Benjamin Costa and her 8 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Etta Hallowell of Georgetown, MA; Dorothy McClung of Charlestown, MA and many dear friends at Concord Street Circle. She was predeceased by her husband William B. Pratt Sr. and her son, George C. Pratt.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Hazel on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord Street, Maynard. Her Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord Street, Maynard. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard.
