Gerald Arthur Horne

Gerald Arthur Horne passed away suddenly on Dec. 30, 2023, at the age of 91.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Joanne C. Horne and sons Martin, Randall and wife Susanne Stern, Christopher and partner Donna Donahue, and Bradford. His grandchildren Erik, Kyle, Mattea and great grandchild Zofia Horne. His youngest sister Sandra (Horne) Hatch, sister-in-law Priscilla Dunphy and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents Ruth (Fox) Horne and Arthur W. Horne, his older sister Joan (Horne) Shapiro, younger sister Nancy (Horne) MacDonald and daughter-in-law Marcella ‘Dena’ Horne.

 He also leaves many past and present Masonic Brothers, including two of his sons.

 A graveside service is planned at 1 o’clock on July 10, 2024, at the Brookside Cemetery, Gleasondale Road, Stow. 

 Following the service, a Celebration of Life will be held at 34 Meeting House Lane, Stow.

The Broken Chain

We little knew that morning that

God was going to call you home.

In life we loved you dearly,

In death we do the same.

 It broke our hearts to lose you

But you didn’t go alone.

For part of us went with you

The day God called you home.

 You left us peaceful memories.

Your love is still our guide,

And though we cannot see you

You are always at our side.

 Our family chain is broken

and nothing seems the same,

but as God calls us one by one

the chain will link again.
