G. Philip Lenentine, age 92, of Concord, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2025. He was the loving husband of Mary E. (Fortier) Lenentine.
Phil was born in Troy, Maine on August 9, 1933, son of the late Guy L. and Marguerite (Danforth) Lenentine. He was raised and educated in Portland, graduating from Maine Central Institute, class of 1952. Phil enlisted in the United States Army, Airborne in 1953 and proudly served his country for 3 years. Upon returning from the army, Phil and Mary were married in Unity, Maine, August 18, 1956. He attended Southern Maine University in Portland and eventually settled in Plymouth, New Hampshire with his young family.
Phil worked for many years with his brother at Deming Chevrolet Oldsmobile car dealership beginning in 1959. He owned and operated Lenentine Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick car dealership in Calais, Maine from 1985 to 1995. Phil retired in 1995 and moved to the Concord, MA area, settling at Deaconess in 2013.
Phil enjoyed walking, skiing, dancing, going to concerts, sharing dinner with friends and showing off his 1958 Corvette. He was a member of the Star of the West Masonic Lodge in Unity, Maine for more than 60 years and Bektash Temple, Shriners, Concord, NH. Phil was a member of the Plymouth, NH, Calais, ME and Sudbury, MA United Methodist Churches where he served on many committees and enjoyed singing in the choir. He was a transportation volunteer at Emerson Hospital for many years and was the assistant to the church custodian at Sunny Hill Preschool of Sudbury UMC.
Phil was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather whose greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mary Lenentine of Concord, MA; his children, Cynthia Lenault and wife, Anne of Worcester, MA; Christopher Lenentine and wife, Sally of Thornton, NH; five grandchildren, Alison Condon and husband John, Andrew Lenentine and wife Sashana, Virgina Woods and husband Justin, Zachary Lenentine and fiancé Emily Peck, Haley Van Ness and husband Andrew; three great-grandchildren, Eleanor and Alexander Condon and Thalia Woods. He also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews, especially H.O. Lenentine, Jr. and wife Lorraine. Phil was predeceased by his siblings Helene Chick, Grace Bagley, and Halston O. Lenentine, Sr.
Phil will be remembered as a kind, generous, and deeply loved man whose legacy lives on in the family he nurtured and the lives he touched.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Phil on Monday, December 1, 2025, with a visitation hour at 12:00 pm, followed by Funeral Service at 1:00 pm in the Duvall Chapel, 80 Deaconess Road, Concord MA 01742.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Phil’s memory may be made to SUMC, 251 Old Sudbury Road, Sudbury, MA 01776 indicating a gift in memory of Phil Lenentine in the memo line.
