Evelyn (Frazier) Gardner

Evelyn (Frazier) Gardner, 95, of Maynard, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. She was the loving wife of the late John F. Gardner Sr.

Born in East Boston, Massachusetts on March 3, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Peter Frazier and Ella (Paschal) Frazier. Evelyn was raised and educated in East Boston. John and Evelyn were married in 1942. They moved to Waltham in 1954 and raised their family. The couple were married for fifty-one years before John's passing in 1994.

Religion and faith were important to Evelyn. She was a parishioner of Saint Bridget Parish in Maynard for twenty years. Evelyn was generous with her time, volunteering at the Concord Council on Aging in Concord, MA. She looked forward to her Wednesday lunch with her friends from COA. Evelyn took pleasure in reading and cooking.

She is survived by her children; Mark R. and wife Susan Gardner of Waltham, Peter K. Gardner of Athol, Elaine and husband Daniel Haran of Worcester, John F. Jr. and wife Catherine Radford Gardner of Framingham; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Evelyn was predeceased by her daughters Jacqueline Ladd and Patricia M. Gardner and her siblings Rita Brown, Virginia Beverage and Walter Frazier.

Evelyn's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Bridget Parish 1 Percival St, Maynard. Burial will be private.
