Emily E. (Maria) LaPointe

Emily E. (Maria) LaPointe, age 94, of Maynard, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Martis A. LaPointe Sr.

Emily was born in Maynard, Massachusetts, on October 8, 1930, daughter of the late Bernardo and Mary (Mendolia) Maria. She was raised and educated in Maynard, graduating from Maynard High School, class of 1950. 

Emily worked for Raytheon Company as a Quality Control Inspector for forty-five years, retiring in 1995. In the late 40’s and early 50’s she worked at Erikson’s Ice Cream stand. 

Emily enjoyed traveling, playing cards, reading, movies and baking. 

Emily is survived by her son, Martis A. LaPointe Jr, of Maynard, MA; her grandson, Martis A. LaPointe III; her granddaughter Nicole Young; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Josephine Maria, Antonia Tarara, Rose Graham and Virginia Maria. 

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Emily on Sunday, October 20, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord Street, Maynard. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bridget’s Parish, One Percival Street, Maynard. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemtery, Maynard.
