Edward V. Kreutz

Edward V. Kreutz, age 70, of Sudbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2024.  He was the loving husband of Lynn A. (Wright) Kreutz. Edward was born in Queens, New York on August 30, 1953, to the late Austin E. and Elaine A. (Macksoud) Kreutz. He was raised and educated in Stony Brook and Miller Place Long Island, New York, graduating from Port Jefferson High School, class of 1972.  Edward continued his education at Boston University, earning his Bachelors of Fine Arts, class of 1976. 

Edward and Lynn married on June 12, 1982, and settled in Sudbury to raise their family.

 Edward worked as a professional stage manager in Boston, New York and at the Chateau deVille in Framingham, MA. From there he switched his career path and entered sales in the high-tech industry including DeHaart Inc. Burlington, MA and then MPM Inc. in Franklin, MA. During the economic downturn in the early 2000’s, he made another career change to selling administrative human resources with Insperity, Burlington, MA.

 Edward was known for his quick-witted humor and his aptitude for repairing things either mechanical or electronic. He also had a passion for U.S. military history and was driven to honor and commemorate those who had served. For many years he was a member of the Sudbury Companies of Militia and Minute, serving as the group’s Colonel, 1990-1991. For a few years he also served as a reenactor aboard the U.S.S. Constitution, and for over twenty years was the Commanding Officer of the Royal Irish Artillery. Ed was also an ardent B-17 buff, learning everything he could about the plane, its various World War II missions and the courageous contributions made by those who manned them.  

 Most recently he became a board trustee for the Sudbury Historical Society where he completed a year-long project researching the resting place of each Revolutionary War soldier enlisted from Sudbury. He also was a volunteer miller at Longfellow’s Wayside Inn’s Grist Mill.

 Edward is survived by his wife, Lynn A. Kreutz of Sudbury, MA; his sons, Jonathan E. Kreutz and partner Aaron Frondorf of New Bedford, MA; Ryan R. Kreutz and wife Andrea M. of Framingham, MA; his siblings, Austin Kreutz and his wife, Monica of Allegan, Michigan; John Kreutz and his wife, Pam, of Miller Place, Long Island, NY; Elaine Miller and her husband, Patrick Kennelly, of Rocky Point, Long Island, NY; his sister-in-law, Pat Rock of Sudbury; his nephews, Dana Rock and his life partner Jess Reardon, Andrew Kreutz and his wife Jen; John Kreutz and his wife Stephanie; his niece, Kaitlyn Hayes and her husband, James. He also leaves grand nieces, Kayla and Lorie Kreutz.
