Edward T. Cuddy

Edward T. Cuddy, age 82, of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 7, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Rebecca (Marsh) Cuddy.

Born in Maynard on June 4, 1935, he was the son of the late Edward Charles and Esther C. (Larson) Cuddy. Edward was raised and educated in Maynard, graduating from Maynard High School, class of 1953. He proudly served in the US Army. Upon returning home, he attended Northwestern University. He received his BS in Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and his MBA from Northeastern University.

Edward and Rebecca married on June 12, 1960 and settled in Stow where they raised their family, and later moved to Concord.

Ed worked as an Executive in the high-tech industry for more than thirty years. Among other companies, he worked at Prime Computer Incorporated, eventually retiring from GTECH Corporation in 1994.

Family was most important to Ed. He especially appreciated the individual relationships he had with each of his grandchildren. Ed was a sports enthusiast like no other. He followed all pro, college, and local teams and athletes. In his retirement years he loved to golf with his children, grandchildren and friends.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca Cuddy of Hudson; his children Edward C. Cuddy of Bolton, his daughter-in-law Katherine Cuddy of Lancaster, Linda C. and husband David M. Avery of Alameda, CA; Robert F. and wife Kathleen M. Cuddy of Hudson; Lisa C. Williams of Concord; his cherished grandchildren Jennifer Cuddy, Michelle Cuddy, Edward T. Cuddy II, Victoria Avery, Elizabeth Avery, Robert Cuddy, Michael Cuddy, Daniel Cuddy, Sean Cuddy, Katherine Williams and Kevin Williams; sister Lorraine Howes of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. Ed was pre-deceased by his sister Gertrude Ojalehto.

His funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Glenwood Cemetery, Route 117 entrance, Maynard.
