Doris R. (Janes) "Ruth" Williams

Doris R. (Janes) "Ruth" Williams, 81, of Maynard, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. She was the loving wife of the late Charles F. Williams Jr.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 28, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Robert B. and Eva (Marks) Janes. Ruth was raised and educated in Wilmington, graduating from Wilmington High School. Ruth and Charlie settled in Maynard in 1954 and raised their son Charles F. Williams III. The couple were married for sixty-two years before Charlie's passing in January. Ruth and Charlie had a loving marriage and always enjoyed each other's company.

Family was most important to Ruth. She always looked forward to family celebrations, gatherings and family trips. One of Ruth's favorite family trips was to New York City to watch a Broadway play. She cherished the time spent with her son. The two had a very special mother and son bond. Some of their favorite things to do together were going to the 99 Restaurant and shopping.

She is survived by her cherished son Charles F. Williams III of Maynard, MA and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by siblings Helen Harris, Barbara Dutkowski and George Janes.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard.
