David F. MacGillivary, 57, of Clinton, formerly of Maynard, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021.
Born in Cambridge on November 15, 1963, he was the son of the late Hugh MacGillivary and Florence (Steele) Tomyl, and stepson of Michael Tomyl. David was a dedicated facilities maintenance director over the past thirty five plus years, proudly serving Maynard's Digital Equipment Corporation, The Thoreau Club, American Cancer Society and, most recently, CareOne at Concord.
David will be remembered for his outgoing sense of humor. His favorite memories include street stock racing with his brothers, camping at Coldbrook, and vacationing with family and friends, especially bike weeks in Laconia. He enjoyed NASCAR, riding his Harley Davidson, going to yard sales, cooking and enjoying good food, especially seafood. He was also a long-time member of the Maynard Elks.
He is survived by his devoted wife of thirty six years, Jody MacGillivary, his beloved children, son Brandon MacGillivary, daughter Rachel MacGillivary (Clay McRae), and his cherished grandson, Alexander MacGillivary. He also leaves behind his siblings Dayle MacGillivary and wife Janet of Maynard, Rhonda Rocheleau of Maynard, and Mark Tomyl and wife Lisa of Hudson, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Karen Lee, John, Alexander, James and Allan MacGillivary.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember David on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the Maynard Elks Lodge, 34 Powder Mill Road, Maynard, MA 01754.
