Chester D. “Chet” Jacobs, age 81, of Stow passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.  He was the loving husband of the late Donna M. (Brown) Jacobs.  He is survived by his daughter, Emily K. Jacobs of Stow; his beloved life partner, Marty Sheehan of Stow; and friends and family worldwide.

Chet was born in Marlborough, Massachusetts on December 23, 1942, son of the late Donald A. and Ruth M. (Crossman) Cohen.  He was raised and educated in Stow MA and graduated from Hale High School in 1961.  Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country both before and during the Vietnam War Era.  Chet continued his education at Clark University and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business in 1989.

Chet worked his way through many jobs and careers in his lifetime.  He found his place as a “StorageWorks Ambassador,” he went around the world to inform companies of their hardware computer storage options.  He worked as a storage consultant for Digital Equipment Corporation, Compaq, Hewlett Packard, and Dell, he retired in 2017.

Chet had a passion for volunteering.  When he was a younger man, he volunteered with both the Jaycees and Lion’s Club.  He served on several town committees throughout life.  When he “retired,” he worked and volunteered for the Stow Council on Aging for several years.  Chet enjoyed working, dancing, reading and spending time with family and friends worldwide.  He enjoyed teaching and mentoring and would freely share stories of his life, often in hopes of guiding an individual down an easier path.  He was a true people person.
