Carol Ann Riccardo Lucas, age 79, of Littleton, passed away peacefully with her daughters at her side on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
Carol was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on March 20, 1944, daughter of the late Daniel Vito Riccardo and Anna Brazaitus Riccardo. She was raised and educated in Dunmore, Pennsylvania, graduating from Dunmore High School, class of 1961. Carol attended Marywood College, earning her Bachelor of Science in Education, class of 1965. She continued her education at Fitchburg State College, earning her Master’s Degree of Education, class of 1991.
Family was most important to Carol. She was a full-time homemaker, and her daughters Tonya and Kyra were always her first priority along with her grandchildren, whom she adored. She enjoyed trying new recipes, gardening, and creating a beautiful home for her family. Carol was very creative and artistic, and enjoyed arranging flowers, making wreaths, and sketching elegant women wearing fancy dresses. She had a passion for music, and it was always playing throughout her home (especially her biggest crushes, Neil Diamond and Josh Groban!).
Carol was a kind and generous person that loved helping family, friends, and really anyone who was in need of help or support. She often spoke of her own mother’s loving nature and generous heart. This inspired her to follow in her footsteps.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Tonya Lucas of New Hampshire; Kyra Marino and husband Marc of Maynard, Massachusetts; her grandchildren, Erik Allan and fiancé Amanda Allan, Haley Boyce, and Tessa Marino; her great grandchildren, Alexys, Trenton, and Ian; her sister, Marilyn Gregorski of Dallas, Pennsylvania; her nieces, Dolly Mazzarella, and Cheryl Ingoe; her nephews, Joey Mazzarella, Frankie Mendolia and wife Fran, and Gary Mendolia and wife Debbie, and Johnny Gregorski; her great-niece, Catherine Mendolia; her great-nephews, Frank Mendolia III, Danny Mendolia, and Alex Mendolia; Former husband and father of Tonya and Kyra, Anthony James Lucas. Carol was predeceased by her sisters, Lucy Mendolia and Joan Sherman.
