Barbara J. (Cole) Usher

Barbara J. (Cole) Usher, age 89, of Maynard, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2023.  She was the loving wife of the late John W. Usher.  

Barbara was born in Hudson, Massachusetts, on June 16, 1933, daughter of the late William C. and Barbara M. (Mason) Cole.  She was raised and educated in Hudson, graduating from Hudson High School. Barbara and John married on November 9, 1952, and settled in Maynard where they raised their family.   

Barbara worked for the Acton-Boxborough public school system as a cook for thirty years, retiring in 2013.   

Family was most important to Barbara.  She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed the time spent with the great friends she made in the school system which she maintained up until this day, she loved the many dogs she had over the years as they were a part of the family.  Barbara enjoyed traveling, especially to northern New England and Florida to spend time with family.   

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Cathy Usher of Maynard, MA; her son, Kevin Usher of Maynard, MA; her grandchildren, Brett and Cayleigh; her great grandchildren, Harlan and Sophie her niece, Samantha and her nephew, Chad.
