Barbara F. (Davis) Grierson

Barbara F. (Davis) Grierson, of Maynard MA age 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. She was born to Russell and Winifred (Dexter) Davis on March 28, 1928 in Springfield, MA.
She married the late William Grierson in 1947 and in 1953 they settled in Maynard MA to raise their young family. They lived in Maynard for 30 years and then built their forever home in Hudson, Florida.
Barbara was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana and then GeGe. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh.
Barb spent many years fostering newborns from The Home for Little Wanders in Boston. She would care for the newborns until they were adopted to their forever homes. She had enough love for everyone! After moving to Florida Barb worked for the Hudson FL school system. Barb loved to cook, spend time with her family and travel, especially to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
She is survived by her children William and his wife Christine of Kirkland IL, Nancy and husband Brian of Townsend MA, Grandchildren Barbara, James, Timothy, Kevin, Scott, Shawn, Wesley, Kasey and Hannah and fifteen Great Grandchildren, as well as Brother–in- law Spencer Corkum of Ocala, Florida and Daughter in law Gail Grierson of Acton, MA. Barb was predeceased by her son Edwin Grierson, her loving granddaughter Tracey and siblings, Margaret Corkum, Marjorie Davis and Shirley Novack.
Barbara's wish for everyone: spend more time with your children; walk the beach with loved ones; toast enduring friendships – lifelong and beyond. This is what Barb would wish for you.
