Alice A. Ungethuem

Alice A. Ungethuem, age 90 of Dedham, MA died in Concord, Massachusetts on September 11, 2021 at age 90. Born in Needham, MA to Col. Walter J. Ungethuem and Mabel A. (Oborne) Ungethuem. Predeceased by her brother, John Ungethuem, who was killed in action in Europe in WWII in 1944.

Alice is survived by her cousins Jeffrey D. Smith, Lawrence W. Smith, Katherine E. Edwards, Robert Oborne III, Thomas Oborne and Kristie A. Thompson.

Raised in Massachusetts, Colorado, Washington DC, Maryland and Alabama, Alice graduated from Hood College in Maryland in 1953 and received her Master of Education degree from Boston University in 1967.

Alice taught social studies and history to Junior High students for 45 years, including Needham Public Schools from 1958 to 1993.

Alice was a 59 year summer resident of Nauset Heights in East Orleans, MA, member of Allin Congregational Church in Dedham, Dedham Historical Society and past president and longtime member of Fairbanks Garden Club.

A memorial service will be held in the future. Burial services are private.
