Alan G. Bariteau

March 8, 1942 — January 24, 2026

Maynard

Alan G. Bariteau, age 83, of Maynard, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, January 24, 2026. He was the devoted husband of Daryl (Bradbury) Bariteau for 58 years and a loving father to daughters Jennifer and Aimee.

Alan was born in Concord, Massachusetts, on March 8, 1942, the son of the late George A. and Anne (Kivela) Bariteau. A lifelong Maynard resident, he graduated from Maynard High School in 1961 and remained deeply connected to the community he proudly called home.

Alan was a U.S. Army veteran and took great pride in his military service, including time spent stationed in Germany. Upon returning home, he met the love of his life, Daryl, and they were married in 1967, beginning a partnership that spanned nearly six decades.

Alan worked as a repairman for Fred’s TVs during the 1970s before continuing his career at Iotron, Raytheon, and later Intel, where he retired in 2010. Outside of work, Alan embraced life’s simple pleasures — cruising around town in his beloved 1968 Mustang convertible as a proud member of the Maynard Area Auto Club or relaxing in the backyard grilling and sharing laughs with friends and family.

Alan cherished time spent visiting his daughters during their years in New York City and Las Vegas, and he was especially happy when they both returned to Massachusetts to be closer to family.

A lifelong music lover, Alan’s favorites included Janis Joplin, John Denver and Johnny Cash. He enjoyed many adventures throughout his life — summers in Wells, Maine, winters in Florida, and travels that took him to the Grand Canyon, along the California coast, and across the country with many memorable stops along his favorite Route 66. Among his most treasured experiences were two lifelong dreams shared with his family: witnessing Denali, grizzly bears, and orcas in Alaska, and enjoying a cigar at a café in Havana, Cuba.

Alan is survived by his beloved wife, Daryl Bariteau of Maynard; his daughters, Jennifer Bariteau of Maynard, and Aimee Bariteau and her husband, Eric Morgan, of Cambridge; as well as many dear friends and extended family. He was predeceased by his brother, Jon Bariteau.

Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and remember Alan on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Kennedy Funeral Home, 42 Concord Street, Maynard, MA. A celebration of life will follow at the Maynard Elks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alan’s memory to Veterans Inc. www.veteransinc.org
